deconditionING BREATHWORK
Breathwork is one of the most profound tools I’ve encountered on my path.
It is an active meditation, a three part breath that neutralizes the mind and encourages stuck energy to move, deeply detoxing our mental, physical + emotional bodies. Every session is an occasion for transformation; to get the ‘gunk” out and to move beyond current limitations, change emotional default settings, clear confusion, negative thought patterns, and limiting beliefs. It supports us to move from contraction to expansion. Tending to our inner landscape leaves us feeling softer, less burdened, more connected.
It is a chance to actually let go, unclench; an opportunity to release strong emotions and connect to your own unique life force energy and intuition as well as open your heart to more creativity, gratitude and self love. To come home to you.
There is a reason the lungs are referred to as the ‘breath of life’ and our connection to Spirit/Source. We physically detox a whopping 70% through our breath. This is a major pathway to space making, rewiring and healing our inner terrain and therefore its outer reflection in our lives.
“SADNESS IS BUT A WALL BETWEEN TWO GARDENS. ”
— Kahlil Gibran
It is solution oriented rather than problem focused. It aligns us with our Truth, with the Self underneath the conditioning, with our authenticity. When I lead in person groups my most favorite part is when everyone sits up after Breathwork. There is SO much exquisite beauty in human’s undefended, raw, innateness.
We stay tuned in when we finish the active breath and listen for clarities, insights, connecting dots, intuitive urges. These are meaningful and it can be good to have a journal nearby to jot down what comes through.
Following especially a longer Breathwork session your energy is very open, be mindful of what you consume. Nourish yourself with good food, take in positive content or spend time in nature, hydrate, stay tuned in for synchronicities + downloads in the days following.
* I think something that is often not addressed is our nervous system regulation when approaching techniques and practices that really stir up our energy. If you have any questions about whether or not this type of meditation will be beneficial for you please consult with your health care practitioner(s). Some contraindications for this type of Breathwork would be pregnancy, brain trauma, acute states of anxiety and/or seizures disorders.
IN PRACTICE
Breathwork is much like an active inquiry meditation. The prompts I’m offering you throughout are not for you to figure out with your mind. Let them drop down like stones into the waters of your Subconscious. Your body, your breath, your Higher Self has the answers. Go along for the ride.
